Miss Aylmer / Alymer

It's Aylmer four times and Alymer once on page 111 (where Miss Aylmer, the Vice Principal of Shrewsbury High School, is introduced as Yet Another Emily Fan) and Aylmer seems to be the established spelling in the real world, so I'm calling Alymer a typo.  Since beginning this fic I have found typos untold in my $4.99 (US) edition of Emily Climbs.

She's later revealed to be the granddaughter of Senator Aylmer, who is probably made up.  The Dictionary of Canadian Biography lists only Matthew Whitworth-Aylmer, 5th Baron Aylmer, a colonial administrator who would have been a plausible enough age to be Miss Aylmer's grandfather (1775-1850) but had no children and was not a senator.  Wikipedia's list of Canadian senators contains no members with Aylmer as either a last or middle name (or a first name, for that matter).  There's no US Senator Aylmer, either-- I checked. I did find a short-lived hockey team called the Prince Edward Island Senators, but that's way out of period.

Further evidence for Aylmer as the correct spelling, as if we needed any more: The poetic and cow-eyed young man whom Emily falls for (and promptly out of love with) in Chapter V of Emily's Quest is also named Aylmer Vincent.  A distant cousin, maybe?

Fickle-- fickle-- like all the Starrs.
