Do not Italians stab?

“And what about the psychology? Do not Italians stab?”
“Assuredly,” said Poirot. “Especially in the heat of a quarrel. But this -- this is a different kind of crime. I have the little idea, my friend, that this is a crime very carefully planned and staged. It is a far-sighted, long-headed crime. It is not-- how shall I express it? --a
Latin crime. It is a crime that shows traces of a cool, resourceful, deliberate brain – I think an Anglo-Saxon brain.”

Murder on the Orient Express, aka STEREOTYPES ON A TRAIN, is pure enjoyment, marred only by the complete absence of Miss Jane Marple. The train to Calais is snowed in somewhere in the Balkans, someone in the sleeper car has been stabbed a bunch of times, and no one is talking -- except about the improbably broad national characteristics of the other people on the train. I really hope the solution will end up turning on the fact that national stereotypes are not necessarily an accurate guide to human behavior, but we'll see! The pacing is really well done so far.

I haven't actually seen Snakes on a Plane either. But I'm pretty sure the menace is snakes, unless the trailers were completely misleading.
