I feel like I might be sabotaging myself in some way by lining up too many books to read. In a week I'll collapse and then read nothing for the next month. But it's seemed pretty good for me to read books and write a little about them, so I feel inclined to continue.

99 novels

I found this book at the bookstore. It covers the period 1939-1984, which is a pretty dead zone for me, so I'm tempted to adopt it as yet another reading guide. We'll see what happens, I guess -- but I've already ordered Party Going, the first novel on the list, so I'm in for a penny, at least.

Which vaguely suggests to me, for English lit at least, depressing and now so horribly dated no one's bothered re-discovering them. BUT obviously, somebody should! Right now! I look forward to seeing what you find.

I don't mind things being dated! I actually. . . am not always entirely sure what that means. Maybe I'll find out! :D
